Learning Excellence Associate

Department: 430 - Operational Excellence
Office: Chennai
Location: Chennai, TN

Flatirons Solutions is looking for an associate in instructional design and graphic design in our Chennai, India office. Are you passionate about building and driving employee awareness and engagement? Do you strive to enhance the competencies of employees using instructional and graphic design?

The Learning Excellence Associate will be part of the Operational Excellence (OpEx) team and report to the Learning Excellence Manager. The OpEx team is responsible for driving effectiveness, efficiency, and compliance throughout our global organization. We don’t tell teams what to do. We are here to help what teams do, better!

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a genuine interest in developing a career in Instructional Design and Learning and Development
  • Is passionate about creating engaging and interactive content for training courses, infographics, and ILT artifacts
  • Is eager to help implement the OpEx team communication strategy to facilitate awareness and engagement across Flatirons globally
  • Is happy to assist the Process Excellence (PEX) and Compliance Excellence (CoEx) teams to identify the necessary training, awareness, and competency for the employees
  • Has knowledge of instructional design principles and strategies to design and develop interactive and innovative web-based training materials
  • Has knowledge of internal communications tools to raise employee awareness and engagement
  • Has a passion to help people develop their talents and improve their skills and competencies
  • Can extract key information from Subject Matter Experts (SME), tailor materials to the target audience, and improve upon the pre-existing courseware
  • Meticulously proofread and copy-edit course materials with an emphasis on correct grammar, punctuation, spelling, and writing clarity
  • Can seek out inconsistencies in style, locate errors of a factual nature, identify and query questionable statements or conclusions, and check cross references of information for accuracy
  • Has an interest in traditional and modern training methods, tools, and techniques
  • Is intrigued by troubleshooting courseware upgrades, conversion issues, and/or course compatibility issues with the LMS
  • Is undeterred by tedious or repetitive tasks like running reports on course completion to management, and following up with learners to complete courses
  • Is artistic, creative, inventive, and loves aesthetics
  • Has good verbal and written communication skills
  • Is self-motivated and operates with a high level of integrity.

What you need to know (experience requirements):

  • Any bachelor’s degree with excellent verbal communication skills such as English, Human Resources, or Teaching, Training and Development.
  • 2-3 years of experience in a related field creating training content, including e-learning and blended learning experience, experience as a LMS course administrator, or similar position
  • Experience in the use of e-learning software tools, such as Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate, Storyline, or similar
  • Experience in use of graphic design tools, such as Illustrator, Photoshop, or similar
  • Proficient with the features of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and web-based applications like Canva.

What will set you apart:

  • Extensive knowledge of instructional design theory and learning principles such as the ADDIE methodology.
  • A diploma in instructional design from a reputed/recognized institution will be an added advantage.
  • Certification in Advanced Excel Techniques (Office 365) / Power Bi / video creation / animation / graphic designing
  • A portfolio of your projects or work showcasing depth of work and design training.
  • Experience in interacting with subject matter experts (SME)
  • Knowledge of the aerospace industry is an added advantage
  • Experience in designing training events or programs in a corporate setting, ideally related to software development, technical authoring, testing, QA/QC functions, etc.
